●How big is it?

Google charged with $90 million as click fraud class action lawsuit settlement

filed by Lane's Gifts & Collectibles (July 2006)

→15% of all clicks are fraudulent

→Threat to web advertisers costing as much as $1billion annually
:By 2008 projected cost - $1.6billion annually

●Where does it come from?

→Major Source ? Content network sites

:Redistributed ads through domain parking sites

●What are Fictitious clicks ?

→Click bots (automated clicking programs (powered by anonymizers?))
:disguise PC’s identifier/IP address and space clicks to seem normal

→Paid to Read sites (PTR)

Spam, Phishing/Webpage spoofing
:entice users to click on links through email, popular sites, viral content - thus causing visits to ads

→Low detection probability through Facade and dual personality sites
:leading to new web metrics

ちょっと前になるけど

またつい最近にも、

これもClick Fraudが大きなキーワードになっているみたいです。

Google is currently in talks to snatch up YouTube for $1.6 billion, TechCrunch is reporting. The blog's source says discussions are taking place and there is still a possibility the deal may not go through.

● CNNMoney.com(Business2.0,Fortune): Is Google buying YouTube?

http://money.cnn.com/blogs/browser/2006/10/is-google-buying-youtube.html

→Is Google about to gobble up YouTube for a whopping $1.6 billion? What started as a completely unsubstantiated rumor courtesy of TechCrunch today took on a whole lot more credence when the WSJ.com, citing an anonymous source, came out with report stating that the courtship is on.

今後のネット社会が

継続的に成長をとげる意味でも

大事なトピックになっている模様です。
